hi we live in the uk and i being step mum was interested to know is there anything my husband can do as regards his ex wife taking his daughter to live in spain there plans are to go in november.does he have no say in the matter??where does he stand with the law??can this be stopped??the child is 10 when is it she can have her voice heard,her say so .we have a large family and don,t want to see her go.the ex wife is expecting again to her new fella and it seems she wants him to play happy families.and make it that the child forgets her own daddy.any suggestions would be appreciated.thanks for your time

Dad needs to talk to the daughter to see if she really wants to go abroad.... and if she does, make sure he stays in touch with her by phone and e-mail... even if it means buying the kid a cell phone.
The courts can intervene if the dad goes to them to contest taking the kid out of the country... he needs to do that now before they leave. The dad can also demand primary custody under these circumstances.

Im not too sure of the laws in your area. Here in the states, after a divorce either parent is welcome to move anywhere that they like BUT the child cannot leave the present state of the divorce without having court aproval (in most states). My suggestion would be to contact an attorney in your area to see what the laws are there.

............it would be best for your husband to get a lawyers oppinion........there's nothing wrong with your step child moving to spain with her mom====yes you'll miss her, but so will the mom if the daughter stayed behind in the UK
