I was looking at either a tampon with or without applicator. I know people say they love O.B. and others tampax. I am also 15 so i was wondering if a junior tampon would not be good for my flow? I want a tampon easy to use and that is very reliable( i mean extremely) and also comfortable.

OB's are very compact and easy to carry in your purse, but I like the Playtex or Tampax Pearl better. The Tampax Pearl has a easy grip and inserts easily, better than the old cardboard ones. If your worried about leaks use a panty liner also. Be sure to read the enclosed warning about toxic shock syndrome, and never go over 8 hrs. without changing your tampon.

I only tried OB once when I was a teenager and I had long fake nails - it was awkward and I never went back. Some people love 'em.

I'd personally recommend anything slim fit with a plastic applicator. I use tampax with a cardboard applicator because they are biodegradable and I don't want to be responsible for 1000s of tampon applicator filling the landfills, but plastic slides easier and is probably comfier for a beginner.

I've really never tried one that was not reliable. Wear a pantyliner if you're very concerned about leaking, at least until you get an idea of how they work for your flow.

Depends how familiar you are with yur body. If you're not hesitant about touching yourself, OB is great. It can be a bit awkward to place the tampon correctly if you have long fingernails.

It's easy to get the hang of a tampon if you use one with an applicator.

If your flow is fairly heavy, a junion probably won't give you enough protection. Try a regular.

For the time, though, you might want to get a trial size of junior, just to see how to insert the tampon and how it feels going in.

Once you've inserted the tampon properly, you won't feel it at all. That advertising blather about being 'comfortable' is nonsense.

When I first started I used the slim fit or junior tampons. I think thats your best bet. Also, use one with a plastic applicator. Those are easier to use when you're just starting out.
The ones without an applicator require you to push them into a comfortable depth. As long as you don't see cotton when you look down you shouldn't feel anything.

I would say use a tampon with a plastic applicator. It's the easiest to insert. I wouldn't recommend using an applicator-free brand like OB until you're more experienced. I have mixed feelings about the types with cardboard applicators, though, because they tend to get stuck when I use them.

It's not that messy, and produces less waste. Also, I'd never seen tampons with applicators in stores until years after I started using them without applicators. They just weren't around.

Playtex SlimFits are fantastic for beginners because the applicater is slender and smaller than the average tampon. They also have a plastic applicater which makes everything go in easier. However, once you're able to use tampons you'll be able to insert any type of tampon regardless of what the applicater is made of (plastic or cardboard!) or if it doesn't have an applicater. Best of luck!

Playtex slimfits.

An applicator is best when you are new at this. Don't use the cardboard ones, they can be a little uncomfortable especially if you have a light flow. Tampax tend to leak.

i've never used tampons but i'd probably reccomend playtex gentleglide and yes you can use junior and just wear a pantiliner with it if u have a heavy flow and are worried that it will leak. and probably use the ones with an applicator if you don't have much experience with tampons. good luck :D
