I think it was best, regardless...he took one for the team if he was in fact innocent. But from what I've read and understand, he is unfaithful to his wife, and that's bad enough.

He committed a crime (a misdemeanor, yes, but still a crime), pled guilty, and then tried to cover it up. The party was pressuring him to resign--he had to have known that he would not be getting any support and would doubtless have lost in the primary.

And yeah, I find it ironic that he's calling Bill Clinton a naughty, nasty boy--and I've seen the cringe-inducing footage--but he was allegedly involved in the 1982 page sex scandal, he allegedly had sex in restrooms at Union Station (ick--those restrooms are disgusting!), and he would go on to solicit sex in a restroom at an airport.

Yes, he should resign. He is a hypocrite, he called President Clinton a "nasty boy" but Craig is the one that is soliciting sex in public restrooms. Now you tell me who is the nasty boy.

Also, from what I have heard, the people of Idaho have a very low opinion of him and even most of them think he should resign. Idaho is a state that has very high moral values.

He shouldn't have, but he had no choice. Politicians are too self righteous to let anther's mistake go unpunished even though they themselves are committing the same sins.

He had to because he was convicted of a crime. What he should have not done was plead guilty.
