Some websites will not let you sell dogs, so people say rehoming fee (they put a price on the dog that they want to sell it for)... Some people only want $50.00 but most want atleast half it not all of the price they paid for the animal! Hope this helps ;)

Are you talking about in relationship to an animal? This is a fee that animal rescue people usually request. They are not selling the animal but they have paid for vet bills, having the animal neutered, etc and sometimes ask for a rehoming fee if you wish to adopt the animal.

The only time I have heard that expression is at the dog rescue centre, they charge a rehoming fee.

It's when a person wants to be sure that whoever is 'adopting' their pet is serious about it. It helps to sort of weed out the kinds of people who maybe shouldn't be taking in pets. Also, if you're looking on craigslist.org, they don't allow you to sell animals, so calling it a 'rehoming fee' is kind of a way to get around that.
