Is there a fourth dimension? If so, is the fourth dimension the spirit world as taught in the Bible?

What does physics teach about a dimension beyond the third?

We have four dimensions. 3d of space and 1d of time. When you try to hit a fly with a fly swatter it is normally because of the 4th dimension that you missed. The fly left and was gone a few milliseconds before the swatter hit. It is likely that you hit the right spot, but too late.

If you want to learn about more dimensions than that read about string theory and M-Theory.

This is great programming. An explanation for everybody about string theory.

The fourth dimension is the time dimension. If you want to know where the fly is, you have to determine the x, y and z coordinates of is position, but also the 4th that is the time, otherwise you would miss the fly one time or another. Accordingly to the M-theory there are 11 dimensions on our universe, but the other dimensions above the fourth are so "compactified" that they are undetectable in our phenomenal experience. The spirits may use this extra-dimensions, but since we cannot check them, they are above our understanding. Also no one has scientifically proved that they have reached us, so until there is a testable contact with spirits, they remain on the realm of pseudoscience (or faith referring to the Bible). And i am Catholic, but the science is apart from the faith.

It is interesting concerning the fourth dimension. In reality, the fourth dimension is not a separate dimension at all. It is a reverting back to the first dimension.

When mass moves to the speed of light it converts back into electromagnetic energy. It is the same as when a positron meets with an electron and the two convert back into a gamma frequency pair of photons. Matter converts directly into radiation just as high frequency radiation is able to convert into electron pairs.

When mass moves to the speed of light, it loses two of its dimensions, becoming a single dimension - that of the value "c". The value of "c" is said to be that of the fourth dimension - that which all other forms of movement are ultimately compared with. It is possible to cube the Fourth dimension, but in order to do this it becomes "c^3". the value of "c^3" is that of one kg. The value of "c" is not only that of a a particular speed, but it also is that of a particular form of energy.

The commonly held notion is that time is the forth dimension, so yes there is one. You would be interested in dimensions beyond that, and depending on what theorist you are talking to that number may be as high as 11. As far as I know physics does not consider the spirit world in any of their calculations.

The 4th dimension is T. T = time

The Bible is wrong. A couple hundred years ago they said the sun revolved around the earth and they were wrong. Before that they thought the world was flat again they were wrong. The lesson to learn here is never believe in religious texts.
