Ours is sampler which is framed, it was made by my Partner's Great, Great, Great, Great Grandmother when she was 10 years old in 1822. I doubt many modern 10 year old girls could do such a lovely piece of work. It features an embroidery of the ship her Father worked which looks not unlike the Cutty Sark and was called the "Barbara". It is so amazing to look at it and imagine her working on it, all those years ago.

Your husband put your grandmother's ring on your finger? That's really cool.

Any way, the oldest thing in my house is my teddy bear. Had it my whole life. It's in a box in the closet now but I've still got it.
