No doubt you've already found out that changing the margins on the page only affects the text on the page, and does not change the Page Border.

You already seem to know how to get to the Borders and Shading dialog box (Format > Borders and Shading)

When you've got the borders and shading dialog box open, there are three tabs: Borders, Page Border, and Shading.

Click on the Page Border tab. You'll see an options button at the lower right of the dialog box. Click on it.

In the top section, there is a drop down selector named Measure From:

Change that to Text instead of Edge of Page. That usually solves the problem immediately, and you can play with the numbers right there to make sure the border shows.

I've had this question asked many times at work, so it's easy to come up with the solution when you've been through it many times.
Good luck.

Changing your margins is the correct thing to do in this case. You can easily receive assistance via the Office Help either within your application or at Office Online.

First, the Office Assistant can really make it easy to quary the Help files. To enable the Office Assistant, simply click Help, then select, "Show the Office Assistant", if it is not already enabled.

Once you have the Office Assistant enabled, click on the animated charactor and a dialog box opens in which you can enter a help request. Just type in, "change margins", and on the right side a panel will open with all the different help articles, in the program, Online at Office Online, and even on the Microsoft Knowledge Base website. It is a huge help when trying to figure out how to do a particular task in any of the Microsoft Office applications.

Using the program in this way really helps learn the program. I hope this helps some and enjoy the remainder of the holiday weekend.
