Well it's not just you that thinks that. I know how ordinary I am, and I know the abnormal aspects of my life. These sites show me that but it isn't that the clever answers are already there for me, it's that the answers are so common and the ones who ask the question get affirmation of the answers by the repetition of the answers!
See what I mean? If four agree on an answer then the common man has a viable solvent to his or her question.
We are not any different than anyone else darlin, we are all of the same flesh and I thank God for that. It makes us belong, but being human makes us different in knowledge and personalities. This is us, normal and ordinary.

Is ordinary a bad thing ? I'm happy sometimes to know that I'm not so different. I am pleased when someone thinks that I'm clever, but I guess we all must realize that there are other clever folks out there. I'm glad there are-where would we be otherwise? Perhaps when your response has already been said, you must put your twist on it so it's just yours. Keep answering, you will be validated. Stay strong and keep helping.

I think you've got a good point. I'm a very different kind of person, so I notice my answers to ordinary questions are usually different.

However, when I move into an area where I have more expertise, then I do better.

The fact is, most of us are like most of us. We couldn't get along otherwise. It's normal to be normal, and that's good.

Think of being abnormal. If you are too big or too small, it's hard to buy clothes. Or what if you are a very creative, high IQ person. There's a good chance you will be unhappy. Van Gogh, for example, cut off his ear and sent it to the girl he wanted to marry.

Had he posted his question here:
"I'm thinking about cutting off my ear, and sending it to this girl I like. Will that impress her? If not, what should I do?"

He might have gotten several perfectly normal responses like:
"Are you crazy? No! Send her some flowers. Girls don't like bloody ears."

Normal, caring people like you could have saved Van Gogh's ear, and spared the girl some nausea.

It's great that you are normal!

FOR SURE. UNIVERSALITY IS! Once you realize that everyone else has the same needs, fears, desires, and hopes that you have the world begins to become a more peaceful, less frightening, and cheerier place. Nobody here but us children, let's dance!

Obviously, if your 'clever' answer has already been posted, it wasn't that 'clever' to begin with. Perhaps you should rethink your standards.
