Once in awhile my car simply slips out of gear when in high. Usually this is after driving, and bringing the engine and transmission to full temperature. It does not happen often and, when placed back into high, stays there. Only a once in awhile thing. Anyone know what the deal is?

Check the transmission fluid level and color. If color is ok but level is below the specified lower limit, add some fluid. If dirty get it flushed.

Also if everything is fine, i think it may be due to the reason that some of the bands may be worn out. I heard that Lucas Transmission Fix resolves this issue, but first consult it with a qualified mechanic.

You did not mention if you have an automatic or standard transmission. If it is a standard you may have one of two problems. The linkage is not adjusted properly and it is not going all the way into gear to start with. Or, bearings and gears in the trans. are worn enough to let the gears slip apart.

Stick or auto>?Auto linkage= stick synchronize>?or the shift tower is loose on the top of the trans where the shifter goes into the trans pin might be broken>?

most transsmissions today are electronically controlled, they have sensors up the a***ss,check your fan clutch if its going bad this causes the computer in your car to think its running cooler so it tells your tranny to downshift thus making the engine run hotter, and the cycle goes on for ever,of course aamco will gladly sell you one for a couple of grands
