Often it depends on the question really doesn't it?

There are so many on here who obviously put their homework on here and expect others to do the work for them that it really annoys me and a lot of other people too - so they deserve a rude mouth I think.

Most people genuinely want to help - but it cuts both ways. Ask a nice intelligent question and you'll get mostly good answers. Ask a stupid or inflammatory one and you'll get the same back. Sometimes it would be good if the person who asked the question actually bothered to say thank you and vote for a best answer too, but many are just too lazy to do even that !

There are always a few people who are rude in their answers because they know no other way to behave, but primarily iit is the asker who generates the answer reaction.

For example, thee is a spell checker easily available to all people and if the question (or answer) is rife with misspellings, it appears that the individual doesn't care enough about the people to spend a little time ensuring that the question is easily readable.

The same applies to asking a question in the wrong category.

Many people spend considerable time and effort to try and provide reasonable and complete answers and when, time after time they come across questions which are spelled incorrectly, use wrong or no punctuation, skip capital letters, and then ask the question in the wrong category, it can make some people frustrated in their answers.

It is also frustrating to see people ask for answers to complete their homework and to do so in categories that are incorrect (there is a category to ask for homework assistance).

Exclusive of those asking questions who are very young or from foreign cultures and languages, some question are simply ignorant.

To demonstrate what I’m talking about, you have asked 28 questions and a third of them are in the wrong category. Of those 28, 2 are still open and of the remaining 26 you only bothered to select an answer 5 times.

It is likely that you consider this answer rude, but it is not. It is simply a reasonable response to your question because if you don’t care neither will those who answer.

I accept "the lipsiots" answer word for word (and incorporate it herein - ;)!!)
Now - I could go off on your spelling, grammar, etc. - but I think you're trying to make a point so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
Intolerance breeds ignorance which, in turn, breeds ugliness.
Most of us are here to have fun and exchange ideas, thoughts and learn. We also love to help - if we think our help will be appreciated. While a large percentage of the users are students, we gladly accept those questions which seek answers which will enhance the student's understanding of the subject. When someone presents us with a question that actually uses "compare and contrast," "a.,b.,c. or d." we get a bit miffed. Even that kind of thing will be overlooked if it is presented politely - but DEMANDING we do homework is downright rude and receives same.
I get paid a lot of money to answer peoples' questions and help them. I love what I do - the money is a bonus. I wouldn't do THIS if I didn't like helping people.
I will not allow myself to be taken advantage of (most of the time).
So - don't be rude or ugly or try to "use" us, and we'll LET you use us. We really do know a lot of extraneous **** that we don't often have a chance to discuss. We can, and will, help you.

Because; its the only way they think will get through to you, or perhaps they believe that you were that way with them. But; in most cases, thats just the way they are and they do not know any better, and are not willing to change. These are the people you walk away from and avoid at all costs. Because; no good will come from your association with them. Just remember; that everyone can be rude at times, and everyone has attitude, both good and bad. And each person choose's which they display...I certainly Hopes this will help you in some way....

Unfortunately, some do. They has a bad day, feel threatened or were never taught to be nice to people.

We just tend to remember the ones who are nasty since they can upset us so easily. Most people are not so rude and nasty.

Previous answers have raised good points, and I'll add another. Don't post questions not relevant to the topic section. For example, this isn't a history question. Go post under sociology if you must.
