Off and on. We didn't have a policy either way.

Never. My mother often had a rule for my brothers and sister that we could not wear shoes in the house ever. I liked that rule as I loved to go barefoot, even after she didn't enforce it as we got older I still obeyed it and left my socks and shoes off my feet when indoors.

Yeah I was pretty much always wearing shoes. But now we live in a house with all hardwood floors and I make everyone take off their shoes because it makes the floors dirtier way faster.
However I have a stupid three year old sister who makes a mess out of everything possible, ignores rules and is belligerent. But is basically a regular three year old girl.

I did as a kid but now in my house it is a strict shoes off rule for everyone. In fact when I go back home now and days my mom has started a shoes off house their after all her kids grew up and she put in new carpet. So I take my shoes off when I visit home as well.

We didn't have any rules about it - but I am sure I went barefoot a lot more as a kid than I do now.

I almost always had to wear shoes when my mother was home. She seemed to think it was some sort of class issue. I also had a brother who had terrible foot odor, and it was considered wise not to give him any encouragement. When neither of them were home, which was quite often, I would have bare feet as often as possible, and a few times would have to concoct a hasty excuse if my mother came hoe unexpectedly and caught me barefootin'.
