I have three questions,

1st... Does a stride over 100 percent of your body height make you throw harder

2nd... What does a 100 mph baseball look like from a batters view

3rd... Is it possible for a 14 year old person to throw 100 mph?

1. that would be a pretty far stride if you were 6 foot something so no. the stride is all about placement and pushoff.
2. its almost a blur. for the batter its timing from the hand release to the plate. thats why batters are usually timing the pitcher in the batters box.
3. its possible i guess for a 14 year old to throw 100 but its very very unlikely. most 14 year olds arent fully developed and dont have the stamina or the strength to

on the contary to eveyones answer yes to the 1st one. i rad an article about it and it uses nolan ryan and tim lincecum as an example. while it may be hard to strid eover your body height, a longer stride does make you throw harder as does a faster windup and push off. also look at tim lincecums height and weight. hes 5'7 and 175 pounds and throws 95-100 mph all because of his stride oh and a blur for number 2 and no for number 3.

the longer the stride the harder you will throw if you keep the same quick tempo. saying that.... the longer the stride, the quicker your windup has to be or else you will lose velocity. it really is very close to impossible because tendons and ligaments take a long time to develope. normally by the time you are totally developed you are around 20 years of age.

1. that may be to big of a stride..you want to stride far, but if you get to far, your back lknee will bend and your location will suffer..
2. all your thinkin about when its thrown at you is..please dont hit me..please dont hit me..it gets to you so fast..but if you make a solid connection it will go a long ways..
3. it might be..but i doubt it iwll happen..most kids thta age throw between 55-65

1. No, thats a huge stride in many cases.

2. I wish i could tell you, i've batted against 90-95 mph fastballs once or twice, and i just close my eyes and swing, they go so fast, i cant imagine 100mph.

3. technically it is possible, but i doubt its ever been done.
