the bars suit whatever you are looking for, all ages, all scenes, from rave to karaoke, to disco, country and Irish.I know Hallowe'en is a big night there, but that's the end of the month, so I don't know if you'll miss it.
Like the other answer said, a small beach, lots of hills and great night life, just about sums up the place.
only advice, don't go on reps night out, woeful, and it's a nice size, so it's difficult to get lost. Just enjoy it, weather should be good

Gran Canaria Weather October

How lucky!

Weather will be most probably very sunny and warm, as usual. Busy, Gran Canaria is all year long busy. If you don't rent a car and you're staying enough days that you want to see more then go to Maspalomas by bus to walk along the beach and see the dunes.
In Puerto Rico there are bars and restaurants. It's not a big area, you can walk around, if you want to switch to another beach not too far, try Mogan or Alfidelmar, always bars and restaurants and hotels all around and Maspalomas of course.

For some fun and wavy ocean and beach I think Playa del Ingles is great. If you go to Maspalomas at the beginning where the FARO is the beach is full of stones in the water and you have to walk at least 1km if not more to find only sand.

But by going to Puerto Rico your insuring yourself of great weather.
Try some waterski or some other watersport.
For Disco I've seen they start very late after midnight!
enjoy it!

Have been to gran canaria many times and stayed in puerto rico in October were the weather is very good - can be around late 70's to mid 80's but sometimes has been hotter. It is not as busy as in July and August but there is plenty to do and see, plenty of shops, restaurants and bars. This October we are staying in Puerto Mogan (little venice) very worth visiting for a day. You can go by boat and if you like markets there is one held every Friday around the harbour. Hope you enjoy your holiday and the weather. It's bound to be better than the summer we have had in the UK.

Gran Canaria usually has good weather all year round. Puerto Rico is quite a lively little place with a nice beach but very steep hills to access some of the hotels.
My brother & his family love Puerto Rico. My wife & I are going to Maspalomas in a couple of weeks for some sunshine.

Good weather majority of the time, you would just be unlucky if it rained. It has smallish beach, with a beach bar on, there was watersports and a small harbour, a couple of dozen bars shops and resteraunts, but if they all still open in Oct, not sure. From the beach back into teh resort its all up hill. It is ok for a quieter week away. Its a bus ride from Playa da Ingles, which is a bit busier, but wasnt really that fussy on it. If you want a chill and space out for week ok.

The only time a physical compliment is expected and truly appreciated by a woman (unless she’s naked) is when you first pick her up for a date. Learn here http://AttractAnyWoman.emuy.info/?p0w6
She has put forth a great deal of effort to look good for you and her efforts should be acknowledged. Tell her she looks pretty or beautiful; maybe give her a little spin while you appreciate her loveliness. Then stop. After that moment all compliments should be general, like “that’s fascinating”, “cool” and “awesome”. You will make a woman feel more attractive by letting her know that that she is interesting and special than you will by talking about her physical attributes.
