In my baby name book all it says for LaKendra is "a combination of the prefix La + Kendra. I looked up Kendra itself which said it was a form of Kenda which means "water baby" in English and "magical power" in Dakota. I also tried looking for Chere'l, and the closest I could find was Cherelle. It is a form of Cheryl which means "beloved" in French. Hope this helps, these are the closest meanings I could find.

No idea what LaKendra will mean, but Chere in French is loved, you know, they say ma cheri. My love.
When I see that name, I think of African Americans who tend to like to make their own names, and often put La in front of established American names.
There's nothing wrong with that, if you are an African American. But if you aren't, there will be a lot of assumptions of your child's heritage based on your choice of name.
For instance, I married a hispanic (Mexico & Spain) man, and received his last name. Now callers on the telephone, who can't see my red hair and freckles, try to engage me in conversations in spanish. I can only carry on very basic chats in spanish, and they are amazed. After all, my last name...
I can tell that a lot of love went into fashioning this name for your daughter. In my book that makes it very special.

I have no idea on the meaning.
La Kendra wouldn't be in be top ten list but I don't hate it.
Chere'l is way too goofy for me. This apostrophe thing is a bunch of nonsense, as far as I'm concerned.
