I have a 95 ga gt... i've never felt like it was all that great in the mpg. I've figured i got about 26 highway, and 20 city. I tried to measure it years ago and that was what i came up with. It seems like a good general idea but who know i could be way off. It seems to burn alot of gas for not alot of power cause of the 3.1. Oh well still love my car.

If your compression is low on two neibouring cylinders it is probably a bad head gasket. Otherwise you can do a wet test by squirting a half ounce of oil in the cyliders before testing the compression. If this improves the reading that indicates bad piston rings and means a rebuild. If it does not improve the reading it is likely faulty valves which means repair cylider heads.

SE
22-23 city
32-35 highway

GT
21-22 city
29-30 highway

Being 15 years old your mileage will be lower due to things being old and possibly worn out. How much lower depends on how well its been maintained.
