I had about 15-20 molly fry. Over the last few days, they are just dying off and I don't know why! They live in a breeders net and are about 1 week- 1.5 weeks old. I feed them 3-4 times a day. They eat crushed up tropical flake food and I break off a little piece of an algae wafer every now and then for them to nibble on. What is wrong? All the adult fish appear fine and healthy. I have only about 7 babies left.

When removing the dead babies, I also saw a small, fuzzy, white spot on a couple of their heads. But they didn't have this when they were alive.

Odds are good that that isn't enough water flow through the breeders net and it's causing bits of uneaten food to be held in the net, rot and cause an ammonia problem within the net. Some of course will escape into the tank, but enough remains to be a problem for the fry. To help with the problem, be sure to remove any uneaten food after 10 minutes or so and one or two times a day scoop up a glass of water from the tank and pour it into the breeder net.

Overfeeding? Maybe they can't get out of the net to move. Ask the pet store where you purchased them.
