I am planning on staying all winter in a town called Ayr in Scotland and dont really want to have to pay the outrageous prices that the local B&B's and other "budget" places charge while i try and find a place to stay.

Does anyone have any tips from previous experiences , perhaps, on ways to find a cheap place to stay before coming to the UK??

I am looking at around 250 pounds per month. and again, I am looking at what is called a "bedsit" or a small room to rent .

thanks for your help!!

www.all-hostels.com, the cheapest is Wilson hall but can be very busy with university students, its around £10 per night, Ayr can be very cold during the winter so bring lots of warm clothing, and its about 40 minutes on the train to Glasgow.

I doubt you'll have to much trouble getting a place in Ayr.But it
will have a web site Log on and look through the rental agencies. Then you know if you pay for it to be there when you
arrive.It will be.Not a bad place Ayr.And I'm English.

The 'Hielandman's Umbrella' , it's free but you may have to mix it with the Glasgow drunks, part of the city's character.
