I live in the desert and people constantly drop their pets off and drive away. There is no food, it's hot and there is no water, only coyotes. I don't understand this mentality.
Please - no animal hating trolls.

The shame. The shame of having to look someone in the eye and tell them basically that they couldn't handle the responsibility. Its alot of work to care for an animal and make arrangements when you can't take them on vacation and if you send them to a dog shelter(not the SPCA but for dogs on vacation) is costly and many don't or won't pay for it. Its shameful and they should be fined when tracked down, but we treat animals with very little regard or respect. Its disgusting really. You never find a truer friend.

As we know, there are ppl out there who care only about themselves and an innocent little animal are left to fend for themselves just because those ppl can't be bothered to do the right thing.
However, on the other side of the coin.....does bringing those animals to a shelter give them a better life? In many cases, if an animal isn't adopted by a certain amount of time, they are euthanized, which imo is horrible.
So you can clearly see, there's a problem either way.
The best thing to do, for ppl who do own animals, as Bob Barker says, "Get your pets spayed or neutered." At least that way it would reduce the number of unwanted animals.

Wow, you're in basic terms as undesirable because of the fact the unique proprietor. you shouldn't shop a kitten for one damned nighttime? you're a heartless guy or woman who could desire to never very own an animal, and you need to be fined. i'm happy it eats you up interior.That kitten possibly have been given eaten or hit via a motor vehicle, and this is all you and your instructors fault. And what in the international have been you doing working around consisting of your instructor at 8pm at nighttime? regrettably, you will not get arrested or fined because of the fact no one witnessed you doing it, so which you, in basic terms like another pig who dumps an animal after hours at an animal guard with out regard for its protection, will get away with it. circulate play in site visitors.

If you can get their license plate Number, report them, it is against the law. Anyone who will mistread a pet, will also mistreat people. The fine around our area, is pretty stiff for doing that! As well as it should be. There are animal shelters to take unwanted pet , they should use those. Stupid, uncaring people is all that I can say about it.

In this area there is a charge for dropping off animals there. Often times people do not have the money so they drop them off in a subdivision somewhere and let someone else foot the bill.

Probably for the same reason we read about dead newborn babies thrown away in the trash - when they could be given up for adoption or even dropped off at at a hospital with no questions asked. There are just mean, rotten people out there.

i wance had a dog and it had serious health concerns / was going to die. we made a family decision to put the animal asleep. we could not bear for our loved pet tobe mistreated in the whild or by a family. they gave a shot to the animaland it died painless. it was a had decision to make but i think it was the best to make all of our familycried for years we are only know that we can consider getting a replacemeeent.

Because the world is full of fools and knaves, and the ones that do this are the selfish, the cruel, and the worst of our fools and knaves.
They are part of the human race. It isn't our fault they do this, but the ones who taught them, as well as themselves. I hate hearing of this kind of cruelty to creatures who put their complete trust in us.
You want to know what kind of mentality this is? It is an evil and sick one. It is entirely on the shoulders of those betray Gods creatures like this. They are despicable.

I started to say that people do this because they are lazy and uncaring, Let's give them the benefit of the doubt and say they are ignorant. They just don't know any better.
