But he had a good life. Vaudeville, Radio, movies, television, made USO famous, entertained presidents... not bad for a guy that came to the US at the age of 5.

Hope is an elemental constant, like pi. Human perception of hope may wither at times, just as a man with failing eyesight may no longer perceive the Sun. The Sun remains. Only the man's sight has died.
Edit: Here is a profound answer by Yahoo Answers participant "neohnecrosis"that I just read on another question:
"Humans are the masers of propagation, they continue and grow only for one reason, the insolence called "hope". This hope is what drives people to propagate their species. Insolence and ignorance drives us all to clash with eachother, in the long run we are just measuring the strenght of eachtohers hope, and only the strongest hopes survive the cruilty of life."

The reason why I'm not so negative about religions is because it gives people hope-----destiny is not what keeps people going and happy----it's HOPE.
Without hope, a person is as good as dead. Hope is all over the world. It's not dead. Everywhere people are working and doing something---and that is hope at work in itself.
