1975 Honda CB 360: 9,600 miles.

When I shift up or down within the first three gears I can hear an extra two clanks in quick succession after shifting. Would it be something to worry about? Should I take it to a Honda Shop? I just changed the oil so it shifts pretty nicely, but I can still hear these extra clinking/ clanking noises... Could they be pieces broken off from the gears or something? There doesn't seem to be any change in performance.

That sounds pretty serious. I would let an experienced tech at least ride it and listen to it before I rode it much more.

Those bikes had a problem with the clutch lifter mechanism.
Sometimes when squeezing the clutch lever, the lifter mechanism would pop out of the cover and would have to be dis-assembled to re-set it (it's behind the left crankcase cover - chain cover - no oil).
Check if the problem happens when activating the clutch lever.
Other than that - I would get it looked at before any damage is done.

The first answer is correct, an experienced mechanic should be able to quickly diagnose the problem. Just a thought, could it be that your chain is loose and possibly jumping up and clanking against the chain guard when you shift???
