Here in Scotland we have had the ban for over a year now & I can honestly say that it has not changed my life one iota.
I have never smoked & do not frequent clubs or pubs that often. The only thing that the ban has caused that I hate is that outside every single pub, restaurant & club there is a carpet of cigarette ends which makes the whole place look really awful.

Yes, but not for the better. I'm a non-smoker, but when I'm at a bar, I never minded people smoking there. And I thought restaurants with both a smoking and non-smoking section were sufficient. Putting a total ban in place is going overboard. Alot of people I hang out with are smokers, so when we're out relaxing at a pub or a place like that, they continually have to be going in and out, up and down, and it's very distracting and annoying. Can't people have some places where they can let loose a little? Must we all be perfect robots? Geez.

It has not changed my life, because I like a cigarette...after all I have smoked for sixty three years, and my Doctor told me that if I gave up now , I would end up being very ill. I have a clean Health report and get check ups every six months. I have never taken any tablets or other medication...because I do not need it. My life is very active, not like a few more I know, that are always at the Doctors.

Yep it has.

Whereas before the ban I was very conscious of smoking round non smokers and always avoided lighting up near by or around them.

I now intentionally smoke around them, leave a cig hanging out of my mouth when they talk to me and smoke twice as much as before whilst in the street, even when I dont really fancy a cig.

Funny old world aint it!

Hasn't changed much where I live. The only place in town that I can't smoke is Applebees. You can even smoke at Cracker Barrell. Too many tobacco farmers around here.

Yes- changed for the better defiantly.
I can go out without being forced to breathe in other peoples smoke, and when I come back after a night out my clothes still smell clean not smokey

I have had a nicotine patch stuck to me for the last 11 days. I just couldnt cope with looking for some where to have a cig every 10 minutes.

Yes, going to pubs and restaurants is a lot more pleasant since the ban came in. No more smelly ashtrays and fags being waved around in your face..

I wouldn't have said so, until I went to Portugal recently. There's no smoking ban there and it was awful! I came back to the UK and thought what a pleasure it was to walk into shops, etc which are all smoke-free.

Yes, i go in pubs less because instead of smelling like smoke, they now smell of B.O, Stale beer, and the toilets
