My mom taught me to be as financially independant as possible so that if I ever wanted out of my marriage I could do it. That is what I teach my daughters. I teach my son how to be good and respectful to women.

When I was a kid someone had said something mean to me and I went crying to my mother. When I told her what had happened she said, "Consider from whence it comes".

When it happened to my son, that's what I told him. People of little intelligence will try to put others down in order to feel superior.
