I was led to believe these fish got along with each other. I bought three and two of them picked the other one to death, now one of them is picking the other one constantly. What gives?

Gouramis are territorial and not peaceful, though dwarfs are generally more peaceful then other types. They're killing each other because a) the tank is too small for more then one, b) the tank isn't decorated with enough plants to break it down and provide refuge and block lines of sight between the fish, c)a mix of both these problems.

So your best bet is to remove one of them, or remedy any of the problems that might apply to your tank.

I have 2 dwarf gouramis in a committee tank and have had for a while now they get along great with all my fish and each other. I found this on line when i was reading about them before i got them "Dwarf Gouramis are well suited to smaller aquariums, as well as community aquariums due to their peaceful nature. They should not be kept with very large or aggressive fish." i put the link below

Gouramis are an aggressive species to begin with no matter what you were led to believe. I kept an aggressive tank and if I were you, instead of a pair of gouramis, I would have stuck a couple of oscars in with them or a silver dollar, they are more apt to be aggressive with other species, but they think twice before fighting.

Because these fish are fairly easy to breed and the females are not all that colorful, the Singapore breeders ship only males, and in smaller aquaria these little guys can become aggressive.
