I have heard that these vitamins are good to promote hair and nail growth. Is this true?

No, it's not good for a guy to take a womens multivitamin.

Womens multivitamins contain the extra iron women need to make up for the blood they lose each month menstruating. Too much iron is a BAD THING.

If you want to try it, take a womens "over 50" multivitamin, because they reduce the iron content for menopausal women.
