If you can't get to sleep, best thing to do is get up. Get a puzzle / quiz to do, read a book, start a jigsaw puzzle. The more you lay there worrying about not being able to get to sleep, the longer it will take you. I have sleeping probs and was told that there is no point laying there waiting to fall asleap, as it just wont happen. Get up and tire your brain out doing something.
If it carries on, take some natural remedies, like 'Kalm sleeping' tablets, 'Natrasleep' tablets or something. Have a look in Boots or Superdrug. Also have a hot milky drink before you go to bed.
If all of this fails to work and you continue to have probs sleeping, ask your doctor for some advice and see what he/she would recommed.

I lie awake. The one thing I never do now is worry about not getting to sleep. I still work full time and I start at 7.30am but I don't lie there thinking how terrible I'm going to feel at work if I don't sleep. I get through. I've done that a lot, and I catch up sooner or later. I lie and enjoy the quietness and darkness and warmth.

I go in the yard and I spend some time with my dog!After half an hour or so of staying with her I go to sleep easier,she has a calming effect on me and she makes all my worries disappear!

Read until I drop off - every night. If sleep does not come then read a really boring book.

i drink some hot milk without sugar
then try again
if i still can not sleep, i count from 100 to 1 : 100,,99,98like that
if i still can not
i just get up and do anything else to sleep from tired.
