They'll give you something for the pain and then they will either wrap you up with a bandage tight-ish or give you a rib belt. Its elastic and has velcro and you are wrapped up in it like a womens girdle around your ribcage. Just feels like its holding you in so you don't have to keep a hand there (as you sometimes feel like your guts are going to spill out!) and it helps keep it from moving further by limiting your movement.

Broke one a few years ago playing cricket, went to the doctors and they just told me to take ibuprofen and that it would heal itself up. As long as the breath sounds in both lungs are normal, they treatment is just pain killers.

Must say, its hurted like hell though.

Well they examine it to check. At one point i thoguht i broke my rib, it hurt. They probs will tel you to not do much exercise and restrict yourself. They dont wrap you up or anyhting, they probs give you painkillers to keep you going btu the rib has to heal itself as its a bone in the torso.

nothing but drugs, one of the slowest bones to heal as you breath the rib moves, hence the slow time to heal

Nothing they can do. You can ask for heavy-duty pain-killers if over-the-counter ones aren't doing it...

You have my sympathy. They hurt like hell, and it isn't a visible injury so no-one believes you.

Nothing, really I've been there. As long as the lungs are not damaged they don't even strap you up anymore.

Take painkillers.
