right now my yard is half cut. it looks so bad...i was cuttin the grass and i ran out of the gas. so i put more gas in the tank and went to pull the string and nothing

i re-primed i dunno how many times, and i checked the spark plug it looked ok, but black, im not sure if black meant it was burned out. there is gas in the tank. where is the carburator? also, where is the air filter, it may be dirty?

Pull the spark plug and pour a teaspoon of gas into the plug hole, then try to restart. May take a couple of tries. If no luck, follow the fuel line from the tank to the carb to locate it, you'll have to pull off the carb bowl and clean out any dirt/grit in it and the fuel intake on the carb. The bowl may have a little plunger on the bottom of it to purge out sediments.

When a mower runs out of gas all the trash and gunk in the bottom of the carb bowl gets sucked up into the carburetor. I don't think you have much experience with small engines, so I suggest taking it to a shop where they can save you some time and money by diagnosing and repairing it without replacing a bunch of parts that don't need it.

Sounds like you over primed the engine. You stated that the plug looked black this is an indication of the engine running to rich or from over priming it. Changing the plug is the best bet.
