That depends on a lot of things. Most important do they have any power over you-like are they your boss? Not much you can do in that case except learn what gets them in a better mood. I have a client that is sort of like that and if you ask him about his grandchildren he becomes all smiles. But if he is a bf or just a friend, they don't have the right to treat you badly just because they feel like it. I had a college friend that would go off without cause and it was tiring. We would kid her and ask her if she forgot to take her pills. I gradually just backed away from her because her behavior was just unacceptable. And a bf that thought he could misbehave whenever he felt like it would wonder what he was doing sitting on the curb and how he got there that fast. Noone has the right to treat you badly because they have problems. We all have problems so those that don't act appropriately are not your friends.

Once you get to know them, you know what sets them off so you learn to avoid those things if you plan to keep them in your life.
If you are a true friend you'll bring up your concerns and eventually suggest they talk to a doctor or counselor about what could be bringing the behavior on.

Just understand that people go through a lot..you should try to be more understanding of where they're coming from.
Maybe if you get to know them slowly without pressuring them into opening up right away, you'll start to understand why they act they way they do.

Remain incontrol, be flexable, don't do anything to set the person off. This is at lease why I do when I work with children who have autism. It's difficult! Good luck

Sassy's right. DON'T SET ME OFF! i'm sensitive to insults and yelling, so that sets me off the most. Most ppl are, but moody ppl are even more so. LEAVE ME ALONE when i'm mad or upset!

Don't feed it. Ignore them when they're moody, don't give them bait to fuel their anger. Basically giving them attention will make it continue longer. Withdraw the attention and they'll soon come round to you.

Their mood shouldnt affect YOU right. You are in control of your reactions right..You choose how to react.

Don't let other people control you..that's what they want.
