If you have properly fitted shoes and use padding that fit your feet/style, you shouldn't have a problem. I use lambs wool, and I've only gotten 2 blisters in my 2 years of pointe. And no my toes don't hurt. If you have a blister and have pointe the next day, yes I would use a band aid or a jelly toe. If you use a band aid, secure it with a piece of toe tape as well(around the whole foot so it won't slip). I recommend waterproof tape cuz it's thicker.

When I'm dancing on pointe with a blister, I tape the toe with medical tape. When off pointe, I put neosporin/antibiotics on the blister. I've also heard of second skin, but I'm not quite sure what it is--I think it's supposed to thicken your skin or something. Eventually, you will develop calluses on your toes and you won't get many blisters. That's why I don't get many blisters anymore. Padding will also help prevent them--toe pads. There are also blister pads for when you get blisters. They're donut shaped to prevent pressure on the blister area.

You can use toe tap wherever you get blisters. It won't prevent them...but it won't hurt as much. They also have special gel type band-aids for blisters. You can get them anywhere..(Walmart, K-mart, Walgreens) You can also use toe pads. Or Ouch Pouches whatever you like to call them. But get the adult size. Even if your feet are small the adult size covers more of your toes..so that will provide more comfort. I hope this helps!!

i use a Blister Block stick from Band Aid that reduces friction. that way i usually dont even get blisters. but when i do, i use Second Skin (from Spenco) and tape that into place. it really helps, and you dont even feel the blisters any more. another thing you can use is Pinky Pads from Bunheads (you can get them from http://www.discountdance.com/index.php). they go around your pinky toes and really help. i love using them to prevent myself from getting blisters (plus it helps the Blister Block from rubbing off). there's also a Blister-Aid Kit from Toe Savers (you can also get it from http://www.discountdance.com/index.php)

they're both found under shoes and the pointe shoe accesories

To prevent blisters, try putting deodorant on your feet! I know it sounds weird, but it takes away the moister that makes you have blisters. To treat blisters dip your feet in Epsom salt water. It will really hurt but it dries the blisters out so that they will heal faster and will not get infected! One more thing, make sure that if you are putting the deodorant on your feet/toes, to make sure that you don't put in in blisters! that's really bad for you if you do do that!

just keep them clean to prevent infection. they are not really preventable. no matter what i tried, i always got blisters. Im not sure about you, but mine always popped in my shoe while i was dancing. if this doesnt happen to you, i would pop them with a sterilized needle and keep them bandaged. I also wouldnt peel the skin off of them after they had popped. it will fall off when they are ready

Surgical wrap round each individual toe! Or try moulding aluminium foil inside the box where the smaller toes lie to build up that side so the pressure is more equall.

pointe?

Oh yes, pointe. My mind was off in another subject.
Well, clean them constantly. Blisters are very hard to prevent, since I have gotten them alot in the past when I tried different methods.

one of the dance hazards. if it were me, i would try buying that new skin liquid bandage or this stuff at medical supply stores called duoderm which prevents against pressure sores. its thin like skin. unfortunately, you may still get some just due to the nature of pointe. i would try duoderm.
