i was just wondering is it illegal to upload audios to a website like ur own website! because i see a lot of free music videos on youtube and other website but tracks are usually cut down to 30 seconds! so can i upload audio tracks to my site with out violating the law?

You can use The Music Hutch http://www.themusichutch.com/ to upload and search music and then copy the embed code into your blog, webpage, social network profile, etc.. You can add unlimited songs to your playlist.

to upload a file to your personal website is ok. the problem is if anyone else were to get or play a copy of it, that would be "distribution" which is illegal (assuming you don't have permission from the rights holders). the courts look at people who make files "available" this way as facilitators to an illegal act (distribution). So i would suggest you keep any audio files of copyrighted recordings off your website.
