I definetely see that. It seems like the yankees come to play against good teams, and then take some of the weaker ones for granted. The Yankees have very few 1-run wins and decisions, and very few saves for a team. This means that when the yankees win, they win by a lot. Most of the problems for the Yankees is their pitching. Their starters aren't consistent, and neither are their relievers.

their pitching isn't all that great. Mussina sux now, throwing slow w/o movement. Clemens is doing OK. Wang and Pettitte are the only pitchers on the team who are doing well. They've used 13 different SP including 10 in the first 30 games since their rotation is struggling. Igawa is also struggling.

The Yankees have no pitching. All the hitting in the world won't cover an average pitching staff. What happened to the days of where the Yankees were the team to beat , it was because they had good front line starters. Simple as that.

they have no pitching. the only reason they beat the redsox is because they were in the middle of a slump. but i don't really care because i hate both teams. i think the yankees are over rated. i think if they want to do good next year they need to get rid of rodriguez because that would give them 32 mil to work with and get some pitching.

Every team has been streaky this year, but the bar is always set higher for the Yankees, and when they don't achieve it's more "glowing." Aside from that, their pitching is horrendous.
and........when Mariano breaks down the ship will sink even farther!!!

Pitching wins Championships and our pitching has sucked big time. Recently with the influx of young pitchers we have made some headway but our veterans need to step up. Mussina has looked horrible lately and Clemens is a game to game gamble. We may need to get a new skipper.

Currently the yankees have the same problem the red sox had for years, they are tending to play at the quality level of their opponents

Well, their pitching has been very inconsistent, and their offense has been sluggish (not the good sluggish, as in home runs)
I believe that they will win the wild card. Boston, unfortunately, will hold on unless they really start clicking.

this is a easy question. All their talent are in the hands of the oldest players in baseball right now not including a-rod or jeter. next year a-rod might leave. Their pitching sucks and their way to old especially roger Clemons what they thinking
