A friend of mine told me a man created life within the past couple years and that this life has start evolving (growing amoebic legs and such). Appently he won the nobel... can anyone confirm this or show me an article?

No one has created artificial life yet.

There are several groups racing to develop this technolgy though. All are within 3-10 years of success, and the winner will have patents worth billions, so you know this is serious stuff.

I think it was a virus your friend may have heard about which is not exactly life. It is a hunk of RNA. In any case, it is not growing legs and such.

False. We can't make biological life from scratch. Now, software-based life, on the other hand...
