I've had my heart broken twice in my life. On both occasions music (which is very important to me anyway) helped me back onto my feet.

One particular song stood out on each occasion. The first time it was Alive by Pearl Jam, and the second it was Going Missing by Maximo Park. I listened to them over and over, and even now I turn up the radio and stop what I'm doing for a few minutes when I hear them. Curiously, I'm not otherwise a fan of either band.

Are there any songs which hold the same meaning for you?

Killing In The Name Of...Rage Against The Machine.

"F**k You, I Won't Do What You Tell Me...".

After ten years of oppressive abuse, it was music for my soul.

The sound of the air whistling out of his car tyres is a nice tune. Two pounds of treacle through the letterbox has a soothing sound.

Broken key in the lock is good for impromptu songs with previously unheard expletives.

There are others but sooooooo cruel. They way to get over a broken heart is put off the forgiveness..

Listen to Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory! Rather than soaking in misery, you'll realize that you're too good for the other person and will be ready to find someone worthy. The lyrics on this album are great.

Well it has been a long time since I have had a broken heart but the one thing that I think would help me would be Anything by Chris Rice. A singer with a heart big enough for both of us.

When I had a broken heart I used to listen to "Question" and "I know you are out there somewhere" By the Moody Blues over and over again. Still love the lyrics now! Take care!

The first time I ever got my heart broken I listened to Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls over and over again. This song holds that meaning to me. It seemed to capture the exact way I felt.

i truly believe music is a great healer. i turn to music every day just to get through. it has been my encouragement, my uplifting, my time to let tears flow, and even my salvation. and although i have countless songs that take my memory elsewhere, unfortunately my heart is not fixed or anywhere near mending. i think it is still breaking a little more each day.

Over you - Chris Daughtry
Unanswered Prayers - Garth Brooks (country) - really listen to the words...it lets you know that everything happens for a reason.
