Immigration is no other country's business but ours.

Trade , there are some things like Metric use that we're in the minority, and we will ( and are ) changing over to suit International usage for ease of commerce. So that is a legitimate trade law change.

Military, no way.

We shouldn't. However, we shouldn't not change laws out of spite because other nations support the changes.

If it's either in our self interest, or it's the right thing to do, we should let that guide us.

We shouldn't take a knee-jerk reaction that we must conform to the rest of the world, or that conforming to the world is necessarily a bad thing. That shouldn't even enter into the equation, unless international ill-will is such that it works against our self-interests.

It is called an international treaty or agreement. It is in every country superior to national law if it does not contradict the constitution.

Examples can be found regarding free trade agreements, cease fires, and so on.

It has always existed and will go on existing. It´s just law... very interesting to learn by the way.

We shouldn't. We need to get out of the UN. If this country started relying on itself again, we wouldn't be forced to "harmonize" our laws with other nations. Harmonize is the politically correct way to say "lower our standards". The only people who win are the multi national corporations and the governments they pay off.

Suit what nations ? If we suit other developed nations we must start for getting a decent Health System, a decent Education for all, decent politicians at DC, etc. All depend on what nations do you want to suit....

We should never compromise our sovereignty for any nation or entity. That would be outrageous.
