I really messed up my freshmen year, I had an overall gpa of 2.3. Sophomore year I got on track and my gpa slowly started to raise and at the end of the year i had a 2.7. Junior year I really picked it up with 4.0's and an ap class. Every summer since freshmen year I have been taking summer school. At the end of my junior year my gpa raised to what it is now. Over the years I show a lot of progress. I have a 25 on my act and I played soccer for two years. I love the south and I know I want to go to schools there so i was wondering with my grades and stuff if I would be able to get into Clemson, University of South Carolina, College of Charleston, or University of North Carolina Wilmington. I still have senior year to raise my gpa but my gpa now is what really matters. So please tell me if I have a chance or if you know of some other big southern schools I will be able to get in to.

I think you have a good shot. Colleges love to see an upward trend in your GPA, it shows that you care about school and work to improve, and junior/senior year grades are the most important anyway. Some colleges even recalculate your GPA to not count freshman year.

Possibly. However, nowadays colleges want well-rounded students. Grades are not everything. Although, your progress will count big in your favor. You mentioned you play a sport. Good start. How about some volunteer work or a job or anything?

Look at the websites or catalogues of the schools you're interested in, or speak to an admissions counselor to find out exactly their criteria and how much weight is placed on them.

You should be ok. Between the GPA and a very solid ACT score you shouldn't have any major issues getting into at least one or more of the schools you mentioned. Take a deep breath, you'll go to college, don't worry about it!

Dont worry, you will have a chance. Even though your GPA is low, the colleges will see the vast improvement and see that you are really trying. They'd rather see someone who's GPA rose throughout high school, then see someone who's GPA fell.

It sounds as though you have matured since your freshman year and have developed a responsible attitude toward your studies while maintaining a "life" outside of academic classes. I think you will do fine if you emphasize these qualities on your college applications.

I would accept you at my college with these credentials. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders. I have seen many college freshmen come without having adopted these qualities. Good luck.

Mmm. She should look online for the requirements of those universities and what their average GPA scores are and work from there. Don't worry about it if you try your hardest and use your senior year to raise your GPA score. Thats all you can do now;-)

Goodluck;-) and hope it all works well

Google the names and check the websites for their admissions offices and talk to them. Most colleges pay much more attention to the final two years than the over-all high school grades.
