I think they look smart, I shouldnt think teenagers like wearing cardigans and jumpers at their age.

I know what you mean, they are the uncomfiest things going! I can't get used to wearing school uniform after six weeks in my own clothes, and my blazer is too big so i feel completely daft! But on the other hand, I would miss all the pockets in my blazer for my phone, keys, money, etc if i didn't have one. xx

If you hate it you hate it. School uniform is all about conformity. Your only griping about one item. Certain life skills are useful so here is a chance to test out your negotiation skills. You know what they want. You need to decide exactly what it is that you want. You then get someone to explain why they want what they want, so that you understand their viewpoint. You need to understand that viewpoint for you to put forward your case for what you want to happen.
If you don't like it the chances are that others don't also. With anything most don't care or don't think. A few will think the universe was created so they could wear their school blazer, and a few, like your self, will wonder why institutions can be so inane as to devise such garb and insist that people wear it.
There are no promises, no sure outcomes, but what you learn by the experience ought to stand you in very good stead for the future.

You are looking at the uniform as a fashion item. Try looking at it from the outside as a safety matter. It identifies students on school grounds and those not wearing them stand out and can be filtered more easily. It isn't a perfect solution, but people have lost sight of the importance of the uniform in and on school grounds.
They also allow students to become more involved and proud of there school and its colors. That is a number one builder of character.
Also as a side note. You will be around uniforms all of your life. Think about the military and their uniforms. In the civilian world companies everywhere have uniforms and identifying shirts.

i hated wearing the blazer, i felt comfier at my last school when it was just a polo top and a sweater in winter. though a blazer i have to admit has its positives. you can take a smaller bag with you to school because you can carry a pen and your planner in your pockets, and since it is fairly warmer than a sweater you don't need to lug a coat around school with you all day. but the sweater was so much better overall.

They can be alright, it just depends on the material they're made from. Sometimes they go all odd in the rain, I know mine used to.
Though overall I must say it's comfier just wearing a jumper. I think you should only have to take them with you on school trips, and in the winter, and in the summer you don't have to because you might die of overheating or something.

nope, blazers are stupid. it makes people look way too serious for their age. besides, it's not like theyre training you to be a sales representative or something. i say ditch 'em and wear what you want. who cares about conforming, it's a load of cr@p
