The purpose of LIFE is to give LIFE. Be it human being or animal, whether male or female, we are all designed to procreate. We are given bodies that can unbelievably produce or help produce same thing of our own species.
Regarding your follow-up question, these tangible and intangible things around us which become part of our system are just merely added to spice up our existence. Our purpose is to give life but the cycle of life takes years to end and men cannot carry on with their mission if they live in a boring, monotonous, "lifeless", gloomy environment. So they have to live accordingly to be able to create more life. It is just a cycle, and it will go on and on and on.
I have no source here other than yours truly. All of my answers are just products of my imagination but the rationale behind these cannot be simply laughed off and dismissed.

That's such a deep question, and there are so many ways to answer it.
I think the overall purpose of life, is to live for God. But that's my opinion as a Christian. I kinda think that everyone individually has there own purpose in life, that there's not really an overall purpose. Each of us are born with a different purpose in life.
I don't know, that's a hard question!

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell
Your question requires a Creator because true purpose implies an intelligence that gave our lives a mission to accomplish. If we came into existence though strictly natural processes, then it makes no sense to ask about purpose.
If we reject God, then it is not a matter of purpose but a matter of doing things that will make us feel good about ourselves and forget that we have no purpose. Keep busy so we don't think about it. Focus on trivial events. Do some good deeds to inflate the ego. Those are the things we have to do if we reject true purpose.
But if God exists, then our purpose must be to seek Him for He must have put our need for purpose into our human nature to point us to seek Him.

Can a rainbow exist without color. So too life cannot exist without purpose. All of life is replete with purpose. Everything you do has purpose. Every word you speak has its effect. Every thought that enters your mind, lives forever.
Your soul is the sum product of everything you've ever done, every word you ever spoke, and every thought that has passed through your brain. Without the soul life is without purpose.
Therefore, nurture your soul with care. Seek truth, practice love and relish everything in the world that has beauty. In this way you are a blessing to the earth, and you attain enlightenment.

There is no purpose in life!
Life is a journey, a divine joke, a gift...but doesn't have any purpose at all!!!
Look for a purpose and you'll miss the point...and yourself!
Emotions are energy in motion...
Feelings are there to be felt...
School, could be an opportunity to get knowledge and feed your mind and ego...
Exams will tell you if you are good enough according to a society and your teachers...
Teachers are mostly people that have been to school before and are trying to help you understanding things...
Emotions and feelings are natural - listen and trust them but don't allow your logic mind to interfer or suppress them!
Schools, teachers and exams are unnatural...but they could be useful - sometimes ;-)

To live it, to make a difference, having a positive attitude, doing your best, in school, work, around the house.
Lot's of teachers don't care whether you learn or note, only the rote memorization required for standardized tests. You are entitled to an education, so work for it, if you don't understand a question, ask. Don't allow shyness, fear or whatever keep you from learning. The world has enough fry cooks and dishwashers.
The source is life. Half of my classmates still live in the same state, married, kids, and a "great" F150. Yawn! Travel the world, go to college, make a difference in many lives.

I agree...quite depressing isn't it. Edit: in basic terms you're able to be chuffed you're alive. each physique human beings are somewhat fortunate to be alive. the possibilities of you being alive are somewhat slender. It ability, if your parents hadn't got here approximately to fulfill, you does no longer be right here. an analogous is going on your grandparents, your large grandparents.... shop going on the line and it would detect trillions upon trillions of situations that have been a risk to us no longer being right here. yet all of those situations got here approximately from the time we've been mere fish swimming interior the sea. that's probable the only existence we are going to get. human beings don't have it fairly much as good as us. each physique human beings could soak up all the happiness existence has to convey and cope with one yet another peacefully, with love and appreciate by way of fact we are all on an analogous boat and existence is emotional.

Verrry good question indeed!!!
very few person ask or think or know about this....this is good that u had think about it...
first i want to tell u that i believe in god..(this i have to tell u specially bcoz not every person believe in god,so it may be possible that some person will disagree with me..)
ok,i have read some religious books, according to them:
the world in which we r living is not the real world, this is just an image of the real world ...
for example imagine a tree at the bank of the river...& its image in the river....
our world is like the image in the water & it is opposite of the real world is like real tree...
u may ask why we have to go there?though we r happy here ..
as we u & i know there r many things which makes us happy...we enjoy them..but there r so many problems also which we had faced & will have to face...
in the real world (god's world) there isnt any problem ...there we get only happyness & peace of mind....(it is said in the book)
so actually it is said that we have to remember god in our life,by that way we will reach to the home of god ,
as we have a body which need food & drink to live we have to eat...for food we have to work....to work we have to study &
thus we have to be able to do work ..by that we get food to live..
& now i will explain what i think...(the msg above is according to books i read)
this is the world where god teaches us the lessons of kindness & the good way of thinking...
u know if we made some mistakes by doing bad workes we have to pay for it,we r punished for it....why? bcoz of god love us & he dont want us as to behave like a bad person...
( in fact i have so.......many things to talk about this)
ur question was "what is the purpose of life" so my short answer is:
To live the life with good & kind thoughts,we should make our thoughts idol ,
the good thoughts & our kind work give us true happyness, which we want indeed..
( i will tell u more "lecture " about it if u like ){u can send me IM}

The purpose of life is to perpetuate life, plain & simple. That's why the urge to breed is so strong, and often overcomes common sense & logic...
