Uh...They got $400,000 for going to Michigan and playing the game...Teams get a cut for playing the games...merchandise, ticket sales, etc...

Michigan was supposed to clobber them. So Michigan gave them $400,000 to say "thank you for your trouble to come out here and add a win to our resume."
That backfired huh?
