The only time I eat the heel of the bread is when I have cooked a big pot of soup beans. Otherwise, the heel goes out to the birds and squirrels in the back yard.

Sure, what do you think a hamburger bun is? As long as the heel isn't cut too thin to make a good sandwich it's just another piece of bread.

We usually save the heels for my Mom to use to make bread pudding!! It's really good with vanilla ice cream!!

Nope, its too round. The only good part is there's no crust. I usually just feed it to the birds :)
