..just how good is this guy? Are the Braves going to open up a starting slot for him by trading Renteria or Johnson, or are they gonna have him play the role of super sub?

I think Escobar is very solid. He's great defensively and can play multiple positions. That is why I personally think he would be better as a utility player. He's got lots of versatility and isn't a tremendous hitter.

Yeah Rumor is that they are trading Edgar to the A's for Dan Haren in the off seaseon and are going to give the job to Yunel escobar. So we will have a the best starters in the National League
Tim Hudson
John Smoltz
Dan Haren
Mike Hampton
Chuck James
And Mike Gonzalez will be back
We should be worried about a center fielder i want to get torri hunter, but lets see what happens

solid infielder that can play 2nd, short, or 3rd. braves need him; not a bad bat, and chipper and reinteria are getting older; i think kelly johnson has the 2nd base job, but maybe the braves can get a quality starter for reinteria; i love chipper, but he gets hurt too much and the braves might need to try to get a good pitcher while his stock is high; so i don't see trading escobar since they traded elvis andrus away in the texeira trade.
