I haven*t found anything yet to motivate me except invite company over for the next day, week, month, depending on how long you think it will take to clean; up.

Well, for me it is not that hard. I am kind of a neat freak though and I am a house wife, so I probably have more time to do things than others. I always like to pick a day to get up earlier and get started with a good breakfast to get me energized. I then put on some old clothes, pull my hair back, and crank up some tunes. I then get to work. Sometimes if I have a lot to do, I have to make a list. I know that sounds crazy, but housecleaning is harder work than most people might think, especially if you do a good job. I always keep going with the thought of how good my home will look when I get done. I hope this will help you out! Have fun! :)

If music doesn't help you concentrate, try listening to a book or a podcast. Just make sure that you don't stop cleaning because you are too engaged in the story! Try not to stop moving (It makes you work more efficiently) unless you are on a break. This helps you get done much faster, and helps avoid distractions from taking over. Try to find a friend or family member to clean with you. Cleaning is always faster and easier when you're cleaning together.

I used to walk for health and to lose weight, but now I take one room of my house at a time and clean it from top to bottom. Excerise comes in many forms and does not always require walking, running, treadmill, etc. I use my house as my exercise tool. I wash walls in the kitchen, along with the regular stuff like the floor, cabinets, etc. I went to Home Depot and bought a large piece of indoor/outdoor carpet and relined all my kitchen shelves and bedroom drawers. My motivation is: it keeps me from eating, watching TV, etc and its great exercise. Give it a try. And boy o boy is my house clean. PS I'm a 65 yr old grandma.

My alarm clock. I set the alarm clock to go off in 15,min´s time . I pick one room to clean and see how much I can do in this short amount of time, trust me you would be surprised I never waste time taking thing´s back to their rightful places until I have finished in that one room. When the alarm goes off I either sit down and have a rest ,or I do the same again . Set the clock foe 15 min´s more and carry on the same way. And the golden rule is, no matter how little I do , I always reward myself. 15 min´s here and there get´s the housework done in no time. Try for yourself it work´s for me , it might work for you too

I guess I clean becausee if any one come over I wouldn't want to be embarrased. Try cleaning one part of your house a day, until it is all clean and after that just make sure to put away anything after you use it, and clean the dishes, then you will only need to clean once a week.

An upcoming visit from my Mother in law!
Or invite some people over that you would expect a tidy house, however the mother in law is my real motivator as she is such a picky clean freak! However it is never to her standard but at least it gets me to sort the clutter!

I like to keep my house clean, but what really motivates me is, to see my sister in laws filthy house, that really reves me up.

For me it is compulsion. What you need to do is behave your way to success, if you need to spray everything down with febreze so it is wet and you can't sit or lay down. Then schedule yourself tasks that you need to have done. Eventually you will get into the swing of things.
