Certainly not to those who recognize that Unions have been the downfall of this country.

Yes. These endorsements carry a lot of weight on the democratic side.
The media is having a frenzy over the possibility of a first female or first black candidate. They've done so to the point that Edwards has been ignored in some media coverage.
I believe as we get closer to the election and people see that unions like the United Steel Workers have endorsed John Edwards, the voters will start looking at him more.
This endorsement will lead workers that are not in unions to at least consider Edwards because he stands for labor support.

The reason a lot of Rank & File are leaning toward Edwards is because his speeches aren't tailored to his audience. He is Pro-Union/Working Class no matter who he's talking to - business, labor, moderate, liberal, conservative.
It's refreshing that a candidate speaks their beliefs universally rather than pandering to the audience. He may be a lawyer and he may be rich, but he grew up just like one of us working stiffs. He's not so far away from the "rent or food?" days. He doesn't talk down to the working man/woman; he doesn't treat us like second class citizens who were too stupid to get a better job.

Union support is big in the primary / caucus season because you can drag the same group of union hacks from state to state to man phone booths and drive voters to the polls, etc...
It worked for Kerry. Kerry probably hooked them up with Edwards.
But remember, Kerry PAID those hacks. So Edwards is going to need more $$$.

He is leading in Iowa and he is third in the polls. This union endorsement is going to boost his numbers up and going to get him more support in the primaries.

Not likely. He has no charisma and his campaign to help the poor wasn't a good strategy to run on in the first place. It may help at first but all he has to go on is his boyhood looks and his youthful optimism and that isn't going to win you the White House or the Dem. nomination.

John Edwards couldn't lead a group of lemmings.
He's toast. Time for him to go back home and sue more doctors to pay for his new house.
I wonder how hard of a time his wife has had getting the oncologist of her choice.

If he can get the media past his haircuts and actually talk about him as a candidate. I am leaning towards him at this point but only after get information from the internet. They will try to take down anyone that threatens them, that damn liberal media.

You're funny, dude. Edwards may get a few more votes by the corrupt union thugs telling their mindless sheep to vote for him, but it won't be nearly enough. Besides, Hillary has the brain-dead loser vote all tied up.
Sorry.

It may prove beneficial to certain demographs but overall polls don't do much for anyone. If anything, more people will jump on the bandwagon..a few more people that is.
