I think he's looking for what he had 5 years ago. I doubt you were much on his mind during the time he was gone.

Hi,
Five years is a long time and maybe in that time apart it has meant he has grown up a little and is not more mature and has decided what he wants from life and relationships.
It up to you as to whether you can take him out - are you both completely single?
If so and you feel you would like to get with this guy then just take it all slow - date each other for a while and just go at your own pace and have a proper grown up relationship.
During the 'dating' stage - be it a couple ofmonths ect - don't have sex with him and just find out what has made him come back but most of all communicate with him so you don't end up splitting over the things that made you split first time round and you can discover if he really wants you for you, and isn't just using you for sex.
People can get back with their ex's but only if both sides are willing to put effort in to communicate and resolve issues tha caused them to split in first place.
Take it slow and good luck!
Lx

Ha Ha....HA HA HA. Not to laugh at your pain, but HA HA HA.
Reverse the situation. You dated him and left for 5 years to 'find yourself'...'sow your oats' ...or what not. Should he take you back no questions asked just because you now realize that the 'grass is NOT always greener on the other side'?
Think about it.
Good Luck!

Without knowing how long you dated for and what were the reasons of him leaving I feel you cannot get a positive answer to your question.

No that's not acceptable. He could leave you again tell him to get a life.

Personally, I would hunt him, however, if you really do want to try again, be very, very cautious.
