Do you go to the gym to do cardio or lift weights or a combination of both? I say if you only go to do cardio, then go out running somewhere. If you have any mountains or steep cliffs nearby you could go climbing...that would be more of a strength thing, sort of like lifting weights. If you have a bicycle, go riding. See how many pushups you can do at one time and then see how many crunches/situps you can do at one time.
Or you can do what my husband (who loves going to the gym) is doing today and just take the day off and go back tomorrow.

just do push-ups and sit-ups. or clean out your garage, because heavy lifting will work also.

run outside, cycle your bike.....lift things that are very heavy(instead of weights), do jumping jacks.......
