is it true it means teddy bear? what language?

I got a dog that had this name and the people said it meant teddy bear? but I can't find what language it's in or if it really means teddy bear.

I don't think that there is such a word. However Theodicy is a vindication of the justice of God in establishing a world where evil exists and a theodician is a person who practices this. I would imagine that a theodiste (if the word were to exist) is a female Theodician.
