steinbrenner needs to learn that just because a team has a bad year he can't get rid of people. joe torre is a good manager. have new yorker's realized that maybe the reason the yankees aren't performing well is because they put so much pressure on them. their so mean. if i was alex rodriguez i would opt out of my contract with them and go to a team that would really appreciate him. oh and i hate the yankees.

Yankees WILL make the wild-card: Tigers and Mariners don't seem to want it. Regardless - Torre should "retire" to inject some fresh blood. Player moves are hindered by the ridiculous contracts they are saddled with.

Yankees pitching won't get them past the 1st round this year.

if the yanks dont make the playoffs, torre is gone, his contract is up anyway hes probably done even if they make the playoffs... cashman is in danger of being fired as well, but thats probably all he'll do

He will go fishing for pitching whether they make the playoffs or not. If he had Oakland or Detroit's rotation, Boston would be scrambling to catch up.

no... but i think they are waiting fr donnie baseball to be ready... then torre goes.. they don't want to give donnie a crappy team...they have a good minors so they can trade... and there is a good free agent market this year... Damon is gone i think... cashman stays... he gets along with the boss... mess-ina really crapped on cashman's shoes this season tho.

he needs to, the Yankees are a solid franchise, and can and will come back on top again, but with any organization the heads always need to examine what is best for their team, i love the bronx bombers but they may need a shake up to get them back on top again...

Too bad Billy Martin killed himself. Hiring and firing him every other year was always an event (and a Miller Lite commercial)!
