I'm expecting my third child and having more trouble than ever picking out a name... one that I keep going back to is Jackson. However the baby's last name will be Thompson. I would like to know if you think the two sound good together? I figure by the time he grows up he will be using Jack instead, but that's just my guess. What are your thoughts?

Jackson Thompson is too much of a mouthful.
Jack Thompson sounds great, however Jack is a very, very popular name right now. My younger brother's name is Jack, and my parents are regretting how popular his name has become since he was born.

You could consider Robert Jack Thompson, and call him Jack, or something along those lines. This makes the name more original.

Somebody below suggested Chase as a middle name. As much as I love the name Chase, I wouldn't use it as a middle name. Because Chase is also a verb, it could sound like "Jackson chases Thompson". Kinda strange sounding to me.

I do think that Jackson Thompson sounds fine if you say it WITH a middle name, but most people don't include their middle name when introducing themselves. They just say a first and last name, and in this case it is too hard to say Jackson Thompson all together.

Some possible middle names:

Jackson Charlie
Jackson Andrew
Jackson Michael
Jackson Patrick
Jackson Matthew
Jackson Frederick
Jackson Lane
Jackson Quinn
Jackson Quint

Jack Benjamin
Jack Anthony
It's hard to find middle names that sound good with Jack!

Some other name ideas (if you decide not to use Jackson/Jack) are:
Charlie
Gabriel "Gabe"
Connor
Jake/Jacob
Andy
Peter
Tyler
Justin

and some cobos I like:
Jake Connor
Andrew Tyler "Andy"
Justin Peter
Tyler Gabe "Ty"
Gabriel Joseph

I hope this helps!

I'm not in favor of Jackson Thompson. It kinda stands out. It's not horrible, but it's not great either. Do you not like the name Jack? Jack by itself seems more dashing and confident to me than Jackson, anyway (ymmv).

jackson is becoming popular, and really it dont got that well with thompson. but if your really stuck on jackson use it as a middle name. or just jack as a middle name.

The middle name should be a one syllable name so when you say the name it sounds beautiful I tried using Wayne and I like the way it sounds of course you should choose whatever name you like for the middle name it could just ne a letter not even a real name...

My son is Jackson! We have a short last name...it's Craft.
We use both Jack and Jackson....but beware....some old people (my grandma) uses "Jackie" which of course my husband hates.
