Edit: My buddy said he had about 400k on it. I'm not sure if I heard him right though, because that seems like a lot!

Izuzu's have a problem at about 160,000 miles of needing new valve cover gaskets, and head gaskets. Seems like everyone I've ran across has the same problem at about the same time. Other than that issue they will run for many miles. As far as how long one will last depends on how the previous owner took care of the vehicle (oil/filter changes, routine maintenance, driving habits). I would expect over 200,000 miles due to the Mitsubishi engine. I had an 89 Mazda B2600 4X4 pickup with the mitsubishi engine/transmission and it had 220,000 miles on it when I traded it in on a new Chevy Cobalt (bad mistake) last year.

it really depends on how much it is. Parts are an issue to aquire many places in the US for that vehicle. Mitsubishi is not my first choice for engines, they are problems waiting to happen. If the vehicle is under $2000 and not rusted and under 100,000 it might be worth it. If not, pass. You also might want to check the insurance premium on it compaired to what you are driving now. I would rather have a Jeep, a Blazer, Explorer, 4 runner or a Pathfinder.

This is a good buy Ive seen rodeos take a beating and still get up and go. However they do require a lot of maintenance.
I live in N.C and I still see rodeos everywhere. I put a clutch one that had 285k a year ago and the guy is still driving it. Its a 2000model w/ 5spd

if its been well maintained really good it can last for at least 300 k on it,those will last along time, but the will give the normal problems like any other vehicle will,if you know the vehicle it helps though, and you know how its been drove, but if you keep the maintenance up on it,you,ll still have the normal things wear out on it,like water pumps and things like that, but the engine should be in good shape in it,you,ll be taking a chance just like with any other type of car, good luck with it.
