I cant get it to centralise properly.Each time i try,the image ends up down one side of the paper with half of the text off the page.I've tried all the settings and have used about 20 sheets so far.Any pointers?

Sounds like document is LETTER format and PAPER is A4.

In then PRINT dialogue click "scale to fix" or "fit to page" or similar.

Also check printer driver has same paper size set as the printer actually uses (again A4/letter mis set will causes errors like you have)

What PDF software are you using? Something about the software, or even the software's settings may be pooched. Try updating your current PDF reader, or download a new one. There are plenty of free readers around, but my personal favorite is Foxit Reader. Just do a Google search.

Sound like your printer isn't set up properly,
Read your documentation that came with the printer,
Go to the printers website and download the latest driver package then uninstall your printer reboot and re-install the printer making sure all the set-up process is completed.
Then on the printer properties set the margins or borders to as little as you feel is right...

Sound like you have DMP printer. if yes
switch off printer
take few drop of oil and put on printer rod on both ends of printer head. now by hand rouse the printer (Move one conner to other 10-15 times and now your problem is solved
