Hi.
I recently formatted my hard drive and reinstalled Windows XP Home Edition.
I have found site to download drivers specific for my computer, however there seems to be a problem with my sound.
The tune that plays when you log on plays fine, but that is the only sound my computer plays. I have checked all the volume and speaker settings, reinstalled the drivers and nothing works!
CD's, MP3's, songs on MySpace and other sites such as YouTube don't function correctly.
So please, is there any way I can get my sound back??
I am a person who can't live without his YouTube and music!!
Thanks.
Alex.

Ok, this may not be it, but in reinstalling the drivers, Windows is confused about the new driver, causing it to halt the driver.
You can check this by going to Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services. Scroll down in this window and find Windows Audio. You can see if the service is started and if it is on automatic or manual. If the service is not started or it is on manual, you can right click on it and hit properties. Under the general tab, you can change between automatic and manual and stopped and started. Try this.

Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices>
Audio tab
Set both "Default device:" settings to your sound card
with the dropdown box.
Then Apply.
